About us
A foundation built by Nigerians, for Nigeria.
Yaknan Humanitarian Foundation exists to walk with communities through their hardest seasons — and to help them rise.

Our story
Born of conviction. Rooted in service.
Yaknan was founded in response to a growing crisis — displaced families, out-of-school children, communities cut off from health services — that too often went unseen.
What began as small acts of neighbourliness grew into a foundation that today reaches tens of thousands of Nigerians every year. Yet our heartbeat is unchanged: to see the person in front of us, and to serve them with dignity.
Our name, Yaknan, is a call to rise together. It is a reminder that no one lifts themselves out of hardship alone.
Mission
To empower vulnerable communities across Nigeria through humanitarian service, sustainable development and locally-led programs.
Vision
A Nigeria where every person — regardless of geography, gender or circumstance — can live with dignity, opportunity and hope.
Values
Dignity, integrity, community, courage and stewardship guide every decision we make and every naira we spend.

Our approach
How we work.
Listen
We start with community — hearing from elders, mothers, teachers and youth about what they truly need.
Co-design
Programs are shaped with partners on the ground, not delivered from a boardroom in Abuja.
Deliver
Our field teams execute with speed, transparency and cultural respect.
Measure
We track outcomes rigorously and publish them openly.
Sustain
We hand ownership back to communities, building local capacity that outlasts us.
Join us in the work.
Whether you give, volunteer, partner or share — you make our work possible.
